Jennifer Barclay is a Senior Meteorologist in TRC’s Atmospheric Studies Group with
over 16 years experience in applied meteorology and atmospheric sciences. She has
conducted and managed many dispersion modeling studies for all types of industries
worldwide. She has in-depth research and industrial experience with a wide range of
dispersion modeling systems from simple Gaussian plume models to more complex
Lagrangian Puff models, particle models and prognostic numerical meteorological models.
Ms. Barclay also has experience with International Sailing regattas and was the
on-site meteorologist for Team Tyco in the 2001-2002 Volvo Round the World Ocean
Race, and the onshore meteorologist for Team Dennis Connor in his bid to win the
30th and 31st America Cup races. She has also been involved in developing modeling
guideline documents at a ministerial level in New Zealand and has assisted as
co-instructor in approximately 50 introductory 3-5 day and advanced dispersion
modeling courses worldwide. Ms. Barclay has also published several papers related
to air quality and atmospheric modeling.
